NEET-UG Paper Leak: CBI Arrests Key Conspirator Karan Bhalla from Dhanbad, Jharkhand

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested Karan Bhalla, a key conspirator in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case, from Dhanbad, Jharkhand. His arrest marks the seventh made by the central agency in its deepening probe into the national-level examination scandal.

Earlier, on Sunday, June 30, the CBI had taken Dixit Patel into custody—owner of a private school in Godhra, Gujarat—in connection with irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. Patel, the sixth accused, was arrested from his residence in the Panchmahal district.

Investigations have revealed that Jay Jalaram School, run by Bhalla, functioned as an official exam centre during NEET-UG held on May 5.  Karan Bhalla Authorities believe the centre acted as a hub for organized malpractice, enabling large-scale cheating.
